Introduction:

When an input power source is disrupted, a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) provides the computer system with temporary power support. In order to guard against potential database corruption, it provides electrical backup and keeps the power supply steady. An electronic device called an inverter, on the other hand, changes direct current (DC) into alternating current (AC). When completely charged, it acts as a backup power source and is quite helpful in an emergency, particularly during a power outage. Power backup solutions, such as UPSs and inverters with a 5KVA (kilovolt-ampere) rating, are used to supply electricity in the event that the main power source fails or is interrupted.

Since dependable power supplies are essential, energy efficiency concerns must be taken into account, and backup power solutions are required for a variety of applications, there is a persistent need for UPS and inverter systems with ratings as high as 5KVA in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.

Basic Requisites for BIS Licence

Obtaining a BIS Licence hinges on four key pillars:

1. Manufacturer: The BIS Licence is exclusively granted to manufacturers, not importers or sellers. Importers can act as the Authorized Indian Representative (AIR) of a foreign manufacturer to submit the application, but the licence is issued to the manufacturer.

2. Manufacturing Address: A valid manufacturing address must be provided. If a manufacturer operates multiple factory locations for the same product, each location requires a separate BIS Licence.

3. Product: Each product needs its own licence. However, multiple models within the same product category can be covered by a single licence.

4. Brand/Trademark: Each brand or trademark must have its own BIS licence.

BIS Registration Procedure

1. - If the manufacturer has a liaison or branch office in India, it will be designated as the AIR.
2. - If no liaison or branch office exists, the proprietor or registered user of the brand/trademark in India becomes the AIR.
